The length of title tag: Website <title> tag should be within 70 characters. this is the most important tag for SEO. It displayed first on every search results on any search engines. For each of the post, you should use a nice title for <title> tag. Users will first see the title of the post on search engines.

Meta description length: Website meta description should be within 155 characters. Don’t make it too short. This meta tag is most important after <title> tag. Search engines always show this as a summary. Also, make your meta description tag related to your blog content and also should be matching with the keyword on your body tag.

SEO friendly URL:  Make the URL of every blog post SEO friendly. I personally suggest structuring the URL of every post like our website – https://trickist.blogspot.com/

Add content regular basis: Adding quality content to your website on a regular basis is a very good SEO tactic. Search engine always loves sites updating on a regular basis. Add new posts regularly. I suggest you write a minimum of 4 posts each week on your blog.

The perfect focus on keyword: If your keyword strategy has been crafted properly and your content is nicely optimized for the right keywords then it will be really good for your site.

Avoid using head tag too many times: head tag means <h1> <h2> <h3> ……… <h6>. Search engines don’t like using head tags too many times o one page or one blog posts page. Only one h1 tag you should use on one web page.

Google keyword planner: You can use Google AdWords Keyword Planner for writing SEO articles.

Never copy content from other websites: If search engines find that content on your website has been taken from elsewhere they may downgrade search rankings for some or even all of your web pages. Your overall site can be affected by Google algorithm update.

Reduce page load and server response time: Search engines give a priority to the websites with fast load and fast server response time. Choose a hosting plan from a hosting server which provides your blog a fast page loading speed and fast response time.

Image attributes: Include words that reflect your site topic in the image title, description, and alt attributes.

noindex, follow meta robots tag: Add noindex, follow meta robots tag for tag pages, categories pages, author pages and for search pages to prevent the duplicate content of your blog. No more about it from this post.

Three Cardinal Sins of Blogging

Three Cardinal Sins of Blogging. Here are three big mistakes that bloggers seem to be fond of making. Of course, this only applies to people who want to build an audience. If you see blogging as a hobby you pursue when you get bored with your Playstation 2 and run out of beer, this doesn’t apply to you.

https://trickist.blogspot.com/2019/10/three-cardinal-sins-of-blogging.html

1. First and foremost, most unsuccessful bloggers just don’t write enough material. Either they don’t post enough links or they don’t rant/write enough essays. If you look at successful blogs around the net you’re almost always going to find that they put a LOT of work and time into their writing/linking. You’re going to have to do that too if you’re going to succeed.

2. Inconsistency kills. Vacations & week-ends off are fine, but just randomly taking days off or making minimal numbers of posts will cost you readers. For the most part, we may be dishing out “free ice cream” (writing for free), but our customers still want a consistent supply. If they don’t get it, they’ll wander off and find one. So instead of having a reader who hits your page every day, they may just check in once every couple of weeks to see what they’ll find. That’s not the way to build up a consistent group of readers.

3. You have got to be distinctive enough so that readers can pick you out of the herd. If there are 50 other blogs out there talking about the same things you’re talking about and saying roughly the same things — well to put it bluntly, why should a reader bother with reading your blog?

If you’re a blogger with talent and patience & you avoid those three “cardinal sins”, you will eventually build an audience.

Top Ten Blog Writing Tips

Ten Blog Top Writing Tips. Are your blog posts not converting as well as you would like them to? Want to know the secrets of how to write a blog post that converts? In this article, I’ll share 10 tips that will help you write a blog post that converts.

https://trickist.blogspot.com/2019/10/top-ten-blog-writing-tips.html

You see most people that visit your blog post usually leave without reading it all the way through.

What sucks even more is that an even larger percentage of people who see your blog post on twitter, facebook, etc don’t even click on it.

You really only have 2 – 3 seconds to grab your user’s attention and convince them to click and actually read your blog post.

So how do you make sure that your content marketing efforts aren’t going to waste? Well, you follow these 10  tips, and I promise it’ll help you write blog posts that convert.

1. Write with the reader in mind. Remember WIIFM? It’s marketing jargon for What’s In It For Me? That’s what you should be keeping in mind. Your reader will read your post looking for what’s in it for them.

2. Make it valuable and worthwhile. Don’t waste people’s time. If you don’t have anything to say, no problem, plenty other people do. So share their articles, do an interview, review a book.

3. Proof-read for typos and glaring grammatical errors. You wouldn’t go out of the house with dirty hair or missing a sock, so why would you publish spelling mistakes? Respect your readers by polishing up your stuff.

4. Keep it short and simple, sweetie. (KISS). Most people are scanners. You may have a lot to say and think it interesting, and it may be. But people are reading online and out of time. Get to the point quickly. Publishing short posts more frequently is a better format than publishing lengthy articles every few weeks.

5.  Keep it lively, make it snappy and snazzy. Even if you aren’t a natural born writer, you can write for your blog. Just write like you’re speaking to your friend…or to yourself! Remember though, get to the point quickly. Keep in mind the journalist’s rule of 5 W’s in the first paragraph: who, what, why, when and where.

6. Link often. This builds credibility and positions you as an expert in your field. People don’t have time to know what others are doing, you should tell them. Linking to other blogs and websites also helps you build a network of associates who will in turn link to your blog.

7. Use keywords often. This will help you stay on purpose, and the search engines will love your blog. Your rankings will go up. This is one of the reasons we have you write out your purpose statements before beginning your blog. The clearer you are about your purpose, the more consistently you will deliver messages that are on target. And the more often your keywords show up, the better your search engine results.

8. Write clearly (short sentences, only one concept per sentence). No double speak or jargon; no more than one idea in one sentence- don’t make your readers have to think about your meaning. Spoon feed them. Use commas and dashes liberally.

9. Write like you talk. It’s okay to use common expressions from speech.

10. Use a clear headline, and don’t be afraid to make bold statements (but don’t mislead people either). Make it snazzy and use key words. Example: Ex-Techno-Weenie Masters HTML Code

I hope you found these 10 tips helpful, and if you follow these, you’ll definitely be able to write blog posts that convert.

Moderating Comments in WordPress

Moderating Comments in WordPress. Sure, everyone hates comment spam in blogs, except the people that perpetrate these “crimes” of the blogosphere, perhaps. Most blogging softwares and packages have their own anti-spam measures, and comment moderation is one of them. This gets to be a bit tedious, though, in case you have to approve (or delete) comments one-by-one. But it’s a good start.

https://trickist.blogspot.com/2019/10/moderating-comments-in-wordpress.html

Here’s how to control comment moderation in WP.

Comment moderation is a feature in WordPress that allows you to prevent comments from appearing on your site without your express approval. Moderation can be very useful in addressing Comment Spam, but it has more general applications as well. If you would like to learn more about comment spam, see Fighting Comment Spam.

How Moderation Works

WordPress runs a number of tests on each new comment before posting it to your blog. If a comment fails one of these tests, it is not displayed immediately on the site but is placed in a queue for moderation, the process of manual approval or deletion by the blog’s administrator.
Controlling Moderation

You can control which comments get held for moderation on your Discussion Options page, which is located under Options ? Discussion.

If you would like every comment to be held for moderation, check the An administrator must approve the comment (regardless of any matches below) option, listed under Before a comment appears.

If you would like to send suspicious comments to the moderation queue, while letting innocent comments through, you will need to specify a set of rules for determining which comments are suspicious. These rules are specified in on the Options ? Discussion ? Comment Moderation.

The first option is to hold comments for moderation if they contain an unusually large number of hyperlinks. Most normal comments contain at most one or two links while spam comments often have a large number. Look at your own comments and set this to a value that makes sense for your blog‘s audience. (Note: In version 1.5.2, and possibly others, if you do not put a number in the comment moderation links box, in other words, if this box is completely blank, all anonymous comments (and possibly others) are sent to the Manage Comments SubPanel for moderation, even if the Discussion Options Subpanel has no restrictions set.)

The second option is to specify a set of moderation keys which, if present in any part of the comment, will cause it to be held for moderation. These keys are specified one per line in the large text area, which is blank by default. Moderation keys can include Spam Words, swear words, IP addresses, and Regular Expressions.

When you add a new moderation key, it’s a good idea to test its validity by checking previous comments. Simply use the link entitled Check past comments against moderation list, which is located underneath the text box containing moderation keys. This asks WordPress to check previous comments and tell you which ones would be flagged for moderation under your new set of keys.

The box marked Comment blacklist works in exactly the same way as the comment moderation box, except that comments that match these words will be deleted immediately and without notification. So be careful! Genuine blog comments could be deleted without you ever knowing they were there.

Getting Traffic To Your Blog

Getting Traffic To Your Blog. A pretty large number of bloggers who, in all honesty run some above-average to brilliant blogs all have the same complaint – “Why aren’t people coming??” After some research on this, we’ve come up with some tips that may just get the traffic coming to your space.

Here they are:

1. Get permalinks working. Dump your software and get something else if you have to, but get them working!

If you want to be taken seriously, get working permalinks!

2. Consider getting your own domain and a hosting service you pay for. Yes, free hosting is wonderful, but you can do better for as little as $5 a month. Your own domain gives you more control, makes it easier for people to find you and, frankly, it boosts your prestige a bit. This is not a huge deal, but you really should consider doing it if you can.

3. Allow public comments. A few high-traffic sites don’t have them, but most do. There’s a reason for this. Yes, you will certainly get trolls (i.e. nasty jerks who try to torque you off). Concentrate on the Zen of Blogging: trolls can only make you angry if you let them.

4. More importantly, even though a lot of readers never bother with comments, a not-insignificant segment of readers likes them a lot. These will often be your more faithful readers. Embrace them. They will help keep you honest. Frankly, you’ll also be providing a way for other bloggers to make themselves known to you. I’ve found a lot of my favorite bloggers exactly that way.

5. Be as generous with trading blogroll entries as you want others to be with you–but never, ever, ever whine about it or expect reciprocation. No one owes this to you. No, not even if you’ve blogrolled them for months and sent them multiple messages telling them how much you love them. You ask once, and you hope for a polite yes or no, and you say, “Hey thanks!” either way. And then you let it go.

If you’re a frequent commenter on a site, and it’s a site you visit regularly, maybe you can ask again once the blogger’s gotten to know you. Maybe. But never be a pest about this.

6. That said, don’t be shy about asking. You’re only going to offend someone if you are a pest, or if you whine.

7. Do not be shy about sending a link to an article you are particularly proud of to other bloggers. Almost no one minds this, if you don’t do it constantly.

8. Any time you write something you are particularly proud of, send it out to 2-3 other bloggers. Don’t limit yourself to just big-name bloggers, either.

9. Develop a list of blogs you especially like, but don’t obsessively visit every every day. No more than 3-4 a day should br finr. You’ll find that by lightly cruising through 3-4 different blogs a day, you’ll constantly find something new and interesting to post about.

Bonus to this strategy: if readers get a note from you saying, “Hey, if you like this message I wrote, could you tell your readers about it?” they might link it. Or not. Either way it’s cool. And if they send you note to me saying, “Hey, if you like this, could you tell your readers about it?” its up to you. Important part: It’s cool either way.

Don’t pine away looking for links from the Instapundit. Be happy when you get a link from a new blogger with hardly any traffic as by some mega-blogger who gets thousands of visitors a day.

10. In short: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Blogging’s supposed to be fun. Not everyone wants to do it, and not everyone should. But if you want traffic, you’re going to have to be noticed. People won’t magically appear without some work on your part. Fortunately, it’s nowhere near as hard or as time-consuming as it seems at first. Just develop a few good habits, and you’ll do fine.

Discover Your Niche!

Discover Your Niche!. Looking at successful blogs, there seems to be some common elements. Here at Blog Tutorials and SEO, we will be taking you through a journey- which will hopefully be of some help in making your blog successful as well…

https://trickist.blogspot.com/2019/10/discover-your-niche.html

First, some caveats! I am still trying to figure out and follow ALL of our own advice. So we don’t claim that ours is the only model.

I am looking at some of the other interesting and successful blogs here and there seems to be some common elements among them.

Part 1. Discover Your Niche!!

Have your own niche but write about other topics as well:

Everyone has their own niche that they know about better than others. However, you may want to write about other things as well.

A very narrow niche gets really old unless you are SecurityMonkey and you can come up with an endless list of interesting new situations every day that you can write about.

Plus he/she has an outstanding story telling style!
